This Privacy Policy explains how the Scanline app (“the app”, “we”, “us”),
developed by BMak, handles your information. By using Scanline you agree to
this policy.
In short: Scanline does not collect, store, or share your personal data.
Everything you scan is processed and saved only on your device. There are
no accounts, no ads, and no analytics.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. Scanline has no user accounts,
no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising libraries. We do not have servers that receive your
documents, images, or usage data.
How your documents are handled
Images you capture or import, the scans you create, filters you apply, and text
recognition (OCR) all run on your device.
PDFs you create and any scans you save are stored in the app’s private storage on your
device. They are not uploaded anywhere.
Your saved documents stay on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall
the app.
Permissions the app uses
Camera — used only when you choose to scan or photograph a document.
Camera images are processed on your device.
Photos / images — when you tap “Import”, Android’s photo picker lets you
choose specific images to bring in. The app only receives the images you select.
The app does not request location, contacts, microphone, or broad storage
access.
Third-party technology
Scanline uses Google’s ML Kit (Document Scanner and Text Recognition) to
detect document edges and read text. These features run on your device. Google
Play services and ML Kit may process limited technical information needed to operate on your
device; this is governed by
Google’s Privacy Policy and the
ML Kit Terms. We do not receive this
information.
Sharing and payments
When you choose to share a PDF or text (for example to WhatsApp, email, or Drive), you are
sending that content to the app you select. Its handling is governed by that app’s own
privacy policy.
The optional “Buy me a coffee” button opens your UPI app so you can send a voluntary tip.
Scanline does not process, see, or store any payment details — the transaction happens
entirely inside your UPI app.
Data retention and deletion
Because nothing is uploaded, you are always in control. You can delete any saved document from
within the app at any time. Uninstalling Scanline removes all of its documents and data from your
device.
Children’s privacy
Scanline is a general-purpose utility and does not collect data from anyone, including
children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected here with a new
“Last updated” date.
